Lumbosacral and pelvis anatomy and biomechanics

There is unpublished evidence that there is a close connection between lower lumbar spine, sacroiliac joint and hip joint pathology. This presumption is further underlined by the kinematics of these joints serving as a chain, and also by clinical examination showing that there is an overlap between symptoms originating from the lumbosacral junction and the hip joint. We investigate this link, involving patients, cadaveric tissues and virtual biomechanics, with a particular focus on the sacroiliac joint.
